Challenge
One of my team members needed direction and was not as engaged as I would have liked. I just couldn’t find the best way to motivate her.
Solution
I decided to use the approaches from the module Effective Mentoring and began having one-on-one developmental discussions with her. We discussed areas for growth, and support needed. I also shared my own experiences.
Result
Now I have much a more productive employee. That productivity can yield savings of $7,000/month ($84,000/year). Moreover, I am less frustrated and more in-tuned to what she is going through. Overall, there are raised standards in terms of team expectations.
